Did you stick with stock size on the exhaust?
The grass is still dead in the cracks of my driveway from doing my fuel filter a few weeks ago. An easy job, but gassy.
The alt brushes are kind of a PITA on the SPG. Access was a dream on the base 900, but I was patient and ended up using a needlenose vice grips to get the inner bolt undone.
On my old 900, the passenger seat didn't work either. I pulled the seat and took it inside and pulled off the seat cover. It turns out that no wires were broken, but the small thermostat had simply become unplugged. Maybe you'll get lucky too.
I had a 900 loaner last winter when my 900 base was in the shop. It had the Nokian Hakkapaletta's and was amazing. The thing drove like it was on dry concrete! I've heard good things about the blizzak's too. Theres a place called Greer (ad in Nines) that carries the Nokian's at very reasonable prices.
This weekend I replace my fogs (again), new belts, e-z out two broken brake bleed screws (hopefully - its my most hated job), bleed brakes, two rear shocks (easy and satisfying), and continue to diagnose my hesitating.
I've had trouble getting front of the SPG onto ramps - the front air dam and trim gets mashed. Have you rigged something up to accomplish this or are your ramps modestly inclined?
