with all 4 wheels on the ground it may be easier. no way i'd do it with a tow dolly. it barely tracked at all. one time is pushed the car fully sideways ( low speed turn in town). also keep in mind that he has some severe gradients no matter which route he takes. three big ones in montana and coming down snoqualamie would be hellish. the southern route across wyoming into utah has a real pickle of a downhill into salt lake and the oregon idaho border has another. i've driven that trip 10's of times and it is a hard one. for 500$ he can get it delivered to his door and that is probably less then the cost of the wear...
not that you don't know what you are doing, you are one of the few who obviously does....but that's just a hell of a trip. 1600 across kansas/missouri maybe....but not over the rockies and cascades.
