Hello...if you have had the same problems can you please provide me with a tip as to what to look for next? Thanks ahead.

85Saab900, 8-valve, 250K+miles

The problem:
Car starts, runs fine, driving for 15-20 minutes when I stop at some curb or light and the idle drops (burps in the 500-900rpm range) then as I try to recover it, since this is intermittent, it drops right to zero & car stalls. I'm usually stuck there for ~10minutes which is when the car will start.

Not sure if related, but other times, I'll be driving with the accelerator depressed and the car shudders....the rpm gage goes to zero. This usually happens for a split second where the rpm will quickly register correct idle speed but other times, the rpm or acceleration doesn't recover and I'm quickly decelerating....putting the car in the next lower gear has worked to restart it.

Done in last two months:
New cap, rotor, wires, air filter, fuel filter, ignition control module. Checked fuses and all vacuum lines are ok, I also hear fuel pump motor at startup as well. Have haynes, will be getting bently soon.

Thanks (THANKS) ahead. Leaving on a road trip this weekend & I'm willing to try any other fixes.
