Removed the heater hose with a flex 1/4 drive and 7mm socket (a few cuts on the knuckles is mandatory) . I also removed the clamp
from the expansion tank to give more flex for hose to be pushed out of the way at the other end. Luckily the Lower Hose clamp bolt was
horizontal in alignment (9 o'clock viewed from passenger seat) and could get a deep 7mm socket in there.
I also removed the intercooler (easy) and am looking at the lower end. This isn't fun. the car had some body work done on it and some
idiot at the shop mounted the clamp and then installed the side bracket (the head is its trapped). I may be able to get a 7mm open wrench
around it. Off to sears I go to get one. Will write more when the job is done.
Also, once I opened the intercooler I used some choke cleaner to clean the butterfly throttle valve. Sprayed some cleaner inside the
intercooler and air hosed it dry as well.
Looks like I managed to leave the darn A/C compressor in place once again.
Hallelujah!
