For most dealers, I'd agree the parts depts have no idea what's what on an OG 900. The old dealer in this city (ATL) had a parts dept that was, at best, indifferent to individuals wanting to buy parts for classic 900s.
But there are some bright lights. The new dealer here has a great guy in the parts dept who takes the time to find some of the parts that SAAB hid in illogical places in the parts book.
The parts department back in the Syracuse, NY dealer (Sports Car Centre) is still the best I've been to (all 3 of them)!
For small parts that I need in a hurry or for dealer-only parts, that's where I go. For the other stuff and for non boneyard things, I go to the sponsors.
