If you can turn a wrench, you can change your fuel pump. It is easily accessed under the plywood deck in the back that also covers your spare tire. Pull up the deck, and you will see two covers. The one on the left covers your fuel pump. All you need is a long screwdriver, and a couple of wrenches to loosen the fuel line. The electrical connections come right off by hand. The only other thing is taking the connections off the feeder pump once you pull the assembly out of the whole. Two small nuts holding those on. It is a very easy job and I am sure you can find a used fuel pump for $100 or less!! I have owned an 84' 900, an 86' 900T (currently), and an 88' 9000s, and all have the exact same fuel pump. Also had an 82' 900T, and an 80' 900T. The models before 84' do not have the feeder pump. Keep that in mind when looking for a replacement. Not a hard part to find. I still have the spares from my 9000 and my 84' 900. Never hurts to stock up on the SAAB parts!! Your fuel pump problem is no reason to abandon your SAAB. With only 110,000 miles you have a long way to go. Good luck
