All I know is that if any one component (either the pressure switch, or the knock sensor) has a bad or weakened connection, the solenoid will click. Since I cleaned up and tightened all connections, I no longer get clicking. To test the pressure switch, do an ohm test across both terminals. Any signal at all indicates the devise is fine. Anywhere from 8 to 14 is normal. No signal means it's shot. I'm guessing an ohm test with the knock sensor should turn up similar results. No signal at all would mean a dead sensor (right?). The fact your solenoid is clicking suggests the unit is fine since that is what it's supposed to do when the APC box tells it to. I've never had to mess with the box, but I'm guessing a bad connection anywhere there would certainly result in a clicking solenoid.
