I live between uptown/downtown around Hennepin/West Franklin (edge of Kenwood), and I work at LaSalle Plaza (Minnegasco). My SPG is very easy to spot because I have grey Carroll Shelby wheels.

I actually bought my 1987 SPG from Chuck Andrews about a 1.5 years ago. Check it out in the Member Gallery (fresh from Andrew's when I bought it): http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/gallery/showimage.php3?im=010221kbonde

I wish the car still looked as good, but due to the record snow this past winter (as well as the great traction from my Nokian snow tires mounted on steel wheels), I managed to rip the front-right bumper extension off, as well as damage the fog lights and front spoiler/chin extension from charging though deep snow banks.

Is the Foreign Service in Duluth? I lived in Duluth for about a year in 1993-94 and took my 16v Scirocco to some place that specialized in Volvos and Saabs - they were the only people to finally diagnose my cold starting problem; It was a bad ignition switich - the engine wouldn't fire if it was below 45 degrees. Because I was a college student, I managed to get away with it for over six months by parking down the hill and popping the clutch to get going every day!!

Concerning Jerry, I've been to his shop three times now, and he's always been willing to put my SPG up on the lift and fix little problems and STILL has not charged me one cent! Of course, I haven't had any major problems like you had with your tranny...

Hope to get in touch,

Karl Bonde (aka - Berle)
