Years ago I had a hard to track oil consumption problem that ended up being a seepage/leak from the spiral-wound oil cooler lines on my 87 900T..found it with flourescent dye, don't ask.

I checked with then-Group6 and Frank said he would like to market some braided SS lines but didn't have a pair of lines to work with (if you remember Frank that about covers it!). I ended up replacing the lines with OEM (highly recommended...the bends are tricky, unless you replace the stock air filter with a cylindrical/not cone K&N...cover the K&N with an amsoil stock 900T foam filter element...and a remote oil filter...I've seen one of those on this board). I sent the old lines to GP6 but never got a credit for GP6 products...it went under shortly thereafter.

One other problem a lot of people don't find out until it's too late with SS braided lines...the braid eats through almost ANYTHING it touches due to vibration. My old SS bypass oil filter lines (that I made in 1973 and started with a Franz tp bypass filter on a 73 GMC Sprint/El Camino) were just mounted with cable ties...the cable ties didn't wear, but the vibration of the lines rubbed a couple other places/sheet metal frame more than you would expect. Also, the SS is susceptible to battery acid fumes and was dissolved almost 3" near the battery..fortunately the teflon tube held without problem. I now use the next step down Aeroquip blue braided kevlar hose which I highly recommend. If you insist on SS braided teflon line hose, make sure you use rubber liners on the mounting clamps to prevent the SS from eating through the mounts...and the hose must be clamped everywhere it touches the body.
