Locktite and Wheel Bearing.

Went to a automotive machine shop to have a wheel bearing pressed in. I took along some locktite to place on the bearing per recommendation from Townsends web site. After the guy was finish he had a fit about me putting on the locklite. He said there was no way the bearing was going to move in the housing and one should never put locktite on a bearing. Does anyone have any thoughts on this.
Thanks
PaulM
