Well I found out yesterday that my flight home for Thanksgiving from Columbus OH to Orlando FL was cancelled. Tried to get anotehr flight, but they said everything left was standby. I really do not want to take my chances with standby. So I have now decided that the Saabit and I are going to have a nice bonding time. It is 1300 miles each way. I am going to be leaving on Wednesday morning at 3:30am (although my last class is Tue @ 4pm) and drive all day long. It takes abut 14-14.5 hrs so I should be there around 7pm Wed night. Then on Sunday I will be doing the same thing, just leaving FL and driving to OH.
The only thing is that I will be doing almost the same thing just 3 weeks later when I go home for Christmas on Dec 14th. The only real advantage is that I will be staying home for 3 weeks before I head back up.
So in 2 days I will be driving 2600 miles in 5 days (not even couting the miles @ home). Then another 2600 miles 3 weeks later.
I'm just sorta venting, but think that I am really going to enjoy every mile with the Saab. Just time to load up the 10=disc CD Changer with some good moving music, (ie: Steve Miller Band, Dire Straights, Dave Matthews, David Gray etc..) and just jump into the fast lane...
Many of my friends here at school think I'm crazy for driving so much. What do you think? Any good advice for the trip? (Good places to stop? Any other good things for the trip?)
