Bend the driver side plastic heater duct down to get to the 4 screws. The screws go upward so you'll need a ball-ended allen wrench. IF you don't have some buy a set from sears. Otherwise you'll be sorry and I'm not kidding. A ball end allen allows you to turn the allen wrench until the screw is out. USing a regular allen you'll have to remove it every half turn or so and that isn't fun working on your back. You should consider using a small amount of rtv to glue the orings to the slots in the heater valve so they don't fall out while your trying to seat the heater valve. Also, please attach the heater control rod to your new heater valve BEFORE you screw it into place. Other wise you'll have to force it on which will break your dash and it will rattle around forever. This picture shows the location after the heater valve was removed.
good luck,
dave n
