Can't get wiser than that can you?
I have a 87 900TC (180,00 Kms) and converted it to a 5 speed this past February. It feels like a totally different car. I had a shop do it in Vancouver, Canada. Dropped off my 87 900TC with a baked auto tranny, new clutch parts and an 83 900 coupe as a donor car. The result was awesome. I don't know of any difference it not being a factory install. As a matter of fact, the thing shifts better than my factory 89 900TC (109,000 Kms)w/ 5-speed!!! Guess it depends on how well they put it back together. Tried to snag back the 87 but the wife told me to pound sand. Just rolled over to 200,000 kms and no problems whatsoever. I put the conversion off for two years. Don't put off till the morrow what ye can accomplish this day...er...don't quote me.
