I also noticed a much quieter engine while warming up, mainly during the first 20 or 30 seconds.
Similar to Ryan, I have 116,400 miles on the clock. Also am in southeastern ohio, and it is getting cold. If it matters, my yearly travels will take me up to Buffalo NY during the winter down to Melbourne FL (Central on east coast) during the summer. So I really have quite a range of temps to cover.
As stated before by someone here on TSN, It does not really matter what oil you use to keep your peace of mind, just keep it topped off, and change it when needed. That is all.
