Doesn't seem to be a wheel bearing problem, which is best heard when coasting and you know about the load/unload. You might be experiencing the beginning of the end of the passenger side inner driver. i'd pull the boot and let the old melted grease drain out and repack with high temp wheel bearing grease, without taking anything apart yet. if that fixes it, you know that before too much longer you will need to replace the driver, but you might get 6 more months out of it.
The other thing that might be making the noise is the brake dust shield. Recent brake work is a clue and it is easy to bend the shield just a little, which can cause all sorts of strange noises when the rotor hits the shield. Try pulling the wheel and rotating the hub to see if the inner edge of the rotor rubs on the shield. If so, pull the rotor and pound the shield back against the spindle. i recently had this probelm on my son's 85 900 and it took a couple of tries to get it right.
