A bad inner driver noise will directly vary with road speed under power. Off power, the noise should almost stop, if the problem is limited to some driver surface cupping. If a spider roller has disintegrated, the noise gets more unpredictable!!! How much slop and noise is there in the driver when you turn the wheel back and forth? Maybe it's time to get both front wheels off the ground and run the car.
I would check the brake shield one more time. With my son's car, we pulled the wheel and bent the shield back and the rotor seemed clear with no load, but came back when actually driving. PITA to pull it all apart again. The rubbing was not against the flat rotor surface, but was right on the inside corner of the rotor. We had to pound the shield back against the spindle. The clearance was only a couple mm's.
Two last long shots, is the axle bolt tight, and is the exhaust head pipe to transmission mount tight.
