More brake woes (86 T)

Trying to replace front pads. Cannot get the yoke to release enough to allow me to fit the new pads, only need about 2mm more space. Any suggestions? are these pads just a bit thicker than spec?. (put an old one in until I can figure this out.) Also I noticed bubbles coming up through the master cyl when I pumped the brakes to seat the pads. I'm assuming this is not normal. Any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks
Cory
