Dead Battery- help!

Looking for some help in diagnosing my problem here.
I have an '86 900S & got a new battery about three months ago (and unfortunately went with a cheap-o, which is hopefully my problem).
Since then, I've had some trouble...
If my car sits for an extended period of time without being driven (as little as just a day sometimes), the battery goes dead. I can jumpstart it fine & it runs quite strong- just as normal and stays charged after turning it off & on again for a while... just as normal, UNTIL it sits overnight or so & then goes dead again. Then I'm back to sqare one at the battery charger or jumpstart. This sucks!
I'm thinking (with little knowledge, other than studying this BBS) that perhaps:
a) I need a new/stronger battery- either the one I have can't support my electrical system or may be a bad battery altogether?
b) I have a bad volage regulator?
c) I need a new alternator?
Any advice?
TIA,
Erin
