I agree with Rob that the first thing is to check the starter wires.
There is a yellow wire with a spade connector that plugs into a contact to one side of the main one. That is the power from the ignition switch to the solenoid primary winding (it throws the starter drive into place and closes the secondary circuit contacts inside the solenoid that then power the motor).
There may also be a blue wire with a spade connector, but newer 900's with the Trionic ignition might not have it as it carries power from the solenoid to the ignition's ballast resistor.
It's very possible that the main power lead from the battery (heavy cable to the center lug) has come loose from the starter. I've found it loose on other cars, and actually had it come off while driving in my '67 96 V-4. I'd been visiting friends about 25 miles from home. I was coming down a hill and turning into my street when I suddenly lost _all_ power and the engine quit. I coasted to a stop in front of my house and opened the hood. Somehow I intuitively knew what to check. I stuck my hand down by the starter and found the battery cable was off. The nut had come unscrewed and fallen off. Since I was at home I just left it until morning to repair it.
These SAABs are such dependable cars. In over 30 years of owning them, I rarely have been left sitting on the side of the road without being able to somehow limp it home where I could fix it. (Except the time my 96 V-4's transmission blew up on me. There were broken teeth on second and fourth gears. Had another one that lost 2nd and 4th just north of the Delaware Bridge on I-95 and and was still able to drive it to my sister's in Laurel MD using just 1st and 3rd.)
