A Saab fan looking for that car will pay 1-2K over, you can't really go by the book especially if you are planning to post on Saabnet. You'll get more $$ selling to a die hard Saab fan over an ad in the paper (to some girl/guy looking for transportation).
When I'm buying I go over the car with a tooth-comb and add up all of the things I'll need to replace ASAP or within 5K; then I start talking price. Things like- all Saab maint stamps are really worth extra- a good dash and premo seats, no rust (a new tranny!): These are the $$ killers.
When I'm selling I'll generally (no rule here) sell to a pre-Saab owner. I let a 1992 T go for 2K less than I could have waited for- this girl's (from ME) 900S died and of course she was looking for the Turbo upgrade. Call me a sap, but I'd rather see it go to someone who will take of it.
Then again- WHY SELL!
