all the hoses are new (year old) silicone, as is the T fitting. No leak around the fitting - it seems almost internal. The pressure coming from the crankcase via pcv valve/hose causes the noise as it whistles through the fitting. hmmmm. I'm puzzled. My idle has always been a bit too high. I have a print out diagram from the dealer of all the EGR bits so I know its all installed correctly.
I'm a bit wary of tearing the EGR off too - without all the plugs and stuff it seems like it could get ugly.
Thanks for the response.
