Got home tonight and realized a couple things. First, I misspoke when I said the vac line comes off the pcv - this is incorrect. The vac line in question (at the T check valve) comes off the Y fitting near the EGR valve (under the intake). Coincidentally, when searching for the source of the hiss, I squeezed off the line from the pcv valve and it stopped the air flow and thus, the hiss.
New revelation: I studied my vac lines to and from this T check valve. They are installed per Bentley - the line from the BOTTOM of the EGR modulating valve (the one mounted on the fender with the vac hose loop at the top) goes to the vacuum resevoir tank then the intake. The hose on the SIDE of the mod. valve goes to the EGR valve via the Y fitting. My hoses are set up this way, BUT the print out I have from the SAAB dealer of the EGR components shows the vac lines connected to the EGR modulating valve exactly opposite as I described.
So, can anyone with a properly installed EGR vac routing clarify this. Who's right, SAAB or Bentley. I'll find out in the morning when I flip the lines and start it up I suppose. With my luck, there will be no magic bullet and it will still hiss, and stumble, and get crappy gas mileage, and my clutch will still leak air...ahhh, but its she's a fun car.
Thanks.
