Ball joint busted while daughter was driving(ball pulled completely out of socket)and had to have the car towed home. Since the joint is busted, pickle fork doesn't do me much good, nothing to leverage against. Anyway I wedged a good size chisel between the stud on the ball joint and the steering knuckle housing and drove the joint out. After a little closer look I discovered the inner CV joint had been pulled out, I assume when the joint broke and the wheel collapsed. I guess I'm now looking at a half shaft replacement, although if I could find an inner CV joint, it would be a piece of cake to replace at this point. Unfortunately, everyone sells halfshafts and not just the joint. Thanks for the advice though.
