Just replaced mine yesterday. Yes, the screws are hard to get to. But you can buy a right angle Phillips head screwdriver at any hardware store. I got one with a racheting head that is only about an inch deep, so it fit in very well. Also, spray some WD-40 on the screw head before you go to the hardware store. By the time you get back, the screw will be easier to get out.
