If you have a turbo car, stay out of the boost. The car will run like you don't have a trailer till you burn an exhaust valve. A 1200lb trailer is more than the rated cargo capacity of the car and you have what is in the car. It will pull it just treat it right.
If auto tranny, add an extra cooler! heat WILL kill an auto tranny fast.
The weight of the trailer is just one factor, there is also the extra drag from moving through the air.
