What BodD said is nearly correct except that all action must be usually done before cornering. Once in the corner, we want to full throttle, or sort of, depending on what we see over there. Basically, this is how-to steps; (1) right toe on brake with swinging heel to right over accel pedal, (2) cut clutch and move shift to neutral, (3) release clutch and rev accel with right heel (still gear in neutral), (4) cut clutch again and quickly shift-down, (5) release clutch, brake and accelerate. For practicing, you want to be sure what "double-clutch" is. Only differenc is, whether you press break pedal with toe and do all steps quick almost simultaneously. Step (1) requires practice and depending on the geometry of pedals, you may need modification. If accel pedal is too low, bolt some spacer making it high enough, and if brake-accel distance is too wide, you have to somehow figure out in terms of modification. In step (3) how much you rev determines how smooth you can shifdown. If you mess up on steep, icy corner, youareoutafterroughspinning b/c front wheel is locked and it is dangerous! BTW, I no more race but use these techniques everyday because it's good for the car.
