I love my Saab--it's reliable, fun, and all that stuff everyone always raves about. Including the rattles and road noise.

Well, I'm working on the rattles bit, but I don't really know how to resolve the road noise issue. It just doesn't sit well with me that driving down the highway at 75 mph I have to raise my voice to talk to people in the passenger seat! Okay, it's not *that* bad, but I'm sure you all know what I mean--they're not super quiet.

I know that I'll never be able to make it really quiet--that's not my goal. But has anyone tried putting some insulation in the doors/body panels/roof to help soften the harshness? Also, a lot of the noise is the engine--is there any good way to put insulation between the cabin and the engine to quiet it down?? Is there even any room to put insulation in any of these places? What should I use to do this--some sort of eggcrate foam like they have for soundproofing sound studios? It would disintegrate, though, and I wouldn't want a bunch of foam dust all in the innards of my car...

Anyway, any comments, ideas, experience would be greatly appreciated as always.
