Although not absolutley necessary, it will make things much easier if you mark the 16 degree BTDC mark on the flywheel with a bit of white paint or chalk/tire marker. Bump the engine until the gradated timing marks show in the opening on top of the flywheel cover. Once you get close, you can put the car in 5th gear and push back and forth until you find the 16 degree line(one past the printed 15 degree line!!). It also helps to rub the marker over the line scribed into the plastic clutch cover. Then assuming you have an inductive light, just hook the spark wire grabber to the number one plug wire. Connect power wire to battery and ground. Loosen the bolt on distributor clamp a little you can turn the distributor with some resistance (not floppy). Disconnect the vacuum line at distributor and plug line with special tool(golf tee). Start engine and let idle. Point light at marks and adjust distributor until marks line up. If you have tweaked your APC and annoyed by knock sensor turbo intrusion, you might consider setting base timing back to 14 BTDC.
