Just did it. The Din cable from the head unit to the eq is wire tied together with the 2 wires with a separate plug for the power to the eq. Most likely the lever arm which controls the heater flap valves caught the wire and pulled it in a way that it clamped it tight. The only thing you need to do is select the heater control valve to defrosting the windscreen (top) and voila, the wire is loose but probably almost cut. At least my insulation was cut. If the heater vavling system is not tight enough to have head a vacuum, start the engine before moving the heater valve. NO NEED TO REMOVE DASH....BTW, the (steel) wire-cathing lever is just below the back of the head unit sleeve. The white plastic piece over it should have prevented just what has probably happened!
