Hopefully the mechanic is skilled enough so that he hooked up the timing chain correctly. I've seen several cases when they got the chain one tooth off and it would create all kinds of different problems depending on which way the timing was off.
Another problem I have seen is when using the wrong gasket between exhaust manifold and turbo. It's suppose to be a very thin sheetmetal gasket but the aftermarket industri produce a thick dubbel walled gasket.
The turbo unit is a high speed precision unit that have been run in the same setting for a long time with the same torque on the bolts holding it in place.
If they use the thick gasket, that one collapse during tightening stage and actually tweaks/bend the whole turbo housing and messes up the bearing/impeller of the turbo making it spool up slower.
