You COULD do it, it just might not be quite as simple as you might first think.
Swapping the rails is EASY. Remove the seats...There are 4 bolts that hold the rails on each seat. Remove these bolts, and you can swap the rails.
Problem #1: If you have heated seats, the wiring for them will now be on the opposite side, although there should be enough slack in the wiring accomodate.
Problem #2: The drivers seat has the seatback adjuster on the left, while the passenger's is on the right. Even worse, if it's a hatchback, the tilt mechanism to "flatten" the seat to get in and out of the back will be on the WRONG side of the seat.
It seems like maybe it would be easier to swap the foam padding out and seat material, than to try and swap the seats...
How do I know all this? I spent a day last week trying this exact project (while also putting a high powered sterro AMP under the driver seat). Does somebody know if swapping the seat covers and padding is fairly do-able????
