Since weather has turned warm lately (mid 70's) I'm only boosting into the mid yellow. When cold, I'd boost into mid red (have modified F&P apc pots). One clue: since it was so warm Tues., I washed the car and when starting it a few hours later, it “chugga-chugged” for a few minutes then smartened up. At that point I noticed the lack of boost. Weird.
Another anomaly; In the past, I've complained of a squirrelly dash temp gauge, running up to about 8 to 9 on the green line almost to red before fans kick on and needle settles down to about 5 on mid line. Seems with the warm weather she runs up almost to the red, but when outside temp is cold, only up to about 6 or so. I've tried tightening the nuts behind the dash and cleaned off earthing points in search of a loose ground but to no avail. I've got a new temp sensor to install, and the car has new 82 deg. T-stat and thermo switch. Should I put on new temp sensor or just live with it? Doesn’t seem to be overheating, the dash needle just seems to overstate the actual heat reading when ambient is warm.
