My Neighbor is moving out of state and selling his 90 900 turbo convertible. The car is in almost pristine cosmetic condition, the only worn items appear to be the shift boot and on some of the buttons the coloring has worn off. All the leather is in like new condition, exterior is excellent no dings or rust, paint is a little faded on the trunk, otherwise like new. He thinks the top is a 3 year old Saab top and its in excellent condition.
He has reciepts for over $5000 in work he has had done over the last two years including new suspension, exhaust, rebuilt trans, new brakes, new cooling
system, and ABS system. Car seems to run and handle great, but he says it could use a new battery and a valve job in the future.Otherwise he says he has had everything done. Its a beautiful car but I am wondering how good a
car it really is if it has needed this much work. He needs $4500 for closing costs on his new house so thats what he will sell it to me for.
Does this seem reasonable? Its a 5 speed with about 150,000 miles on it.
I have had other 900's in the past but always traded them at about 60k.I know nothing about maintaining a 12 year old car or what to expect. I don't want anything that is going to set me back more than $1,500 on repairs annually. Any idea's on what to expect would be appreciated.
