If You Wanted A 900T: 8v vs. 16v....

For fun.
Always wanted a Turbo (well, really an SPG but...) but, when young (i.e. finite $), played it safe and went n/a x2. Now things are different, and lusting over local/TSN classifieds.
I really enjoy the character of 8v n/a more than the 16v n/a (have had both), call me weird. And I dig the novelty of the older cars, and the blunt noses. But with turbos, dunno, only driven 16vT and it ;o). Any thoughts pro/con/practicality re: the <'84 8v turbos vs. '85> 16v turbos? (IIRC brake/hub change '88> and lg pinion '91>, but other than that?) Any adherents out there to only 8v vs. 16v turbos? TIA,
'85 900S 188k
