Problem #2: As i mentioned, the turbo is behaving oddly. I originally tampered with the charge pressure regulator to get better performance, but later reset it the number of turns specified in the book. This had my car barely starting to boost 500 RPM before redline, so i experimented with different settings, but performance was below par until i set it to max. boost, and adjusted the APC. The car ran better than ever before for a few weeks, then the driveability problem reached it's current status, ending my trial & error process. I'm asking if the turbo whine should be very evident, and also shouldn't the turbo boost until the fuel circuit safety cuts out? Is my turbo junk? How can I determine if a rebuild will work? What are the corresponding numbers for the yellow, orange and red zones on the boost gauge, and lastly, will driving the car with this condition somehow damage the motor? Thanks in advance for your help!
