I had the same problem after changing out the engine on a 1972 96. The front rode up very high, and the rear sagged.

The problem was that when I took the engine out, I had the front jacked up, so there was a lot of pressure on the rear shocks, and the front shocks had no load at all on them. I waited about a week to put the new engine in, and when I did, it seemed like the shocks had assumed the position they had been in all during the operation. IOW, the lack of load on the front shocks caused them to travel to the top of their extension and stay there, visa versa for the rear.

I drove it like this for a while, and after a month or so of everyday bumps and dips, the shocks reassumed their original heights. So it might just be that the shocks on your car need some good pumping to return to their normal extension.
