My experience & my book cover '89, so you might get more help from others for part numbers...
What exactly did you break? When I remove my round tin cover, I'm looking directly at the top of the gas tank, at the opening where the fuel pump is mounted. The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank. If you've got a cigarette, please try to be more than a few miles away from my house.
Mine always collects mud & crud, so clean this away so it doesn't end up falling into the tank.
Mine has a dumb little plastic clip which is held in place by one little screw in the middle. This clamps down on the 2 hoses. One hose goes to the filter then to the engine compartment. The other is the return. Don't mix them up when you put it back together. After you remove the plastic clip, each hose pulls straight up, then it squirts gas all over the place till the hose is empty. (Get a jar or a rag or something to catch it.) If you have to fight to get them out, you might want to get new O-rings for them. Now the big ring around the outside (like the top of a Nalgene bottle) unscrews counter-clockwise. While you do this, you've got to hold the center part (where the tubes were) to keep this from turning. All you are taking off is the outer ring. That center part is the top of the pump assembly.
Now the top of the pump assembly is held up against the top of the tank by springs. Push it down into the tank & grab the rubber gasket. Don't drop either the gasket or the pump assembly into the tank. Once the gasket is out of the way, the pump assembly lifts out.
Now you should have bought either the entire assembly or just the pump itself. Check back later...
