Voltage Regulator Question

I look to my fellow Saab owners again. My 1992 900 s was in the shop about two weeks ago. The bushings for the alternator were replaced. The mechanic tested the alternator and it checked out ok. Now I am having problems starting the car. It seems as if the battery is not supplying enough power to the starter. Also the radio will cut out when I brake hard. The windows seem to go down slower. Yet, the headlights remain to keep there constant brightness regardless to how high or low the RPM. I tested the battery, cleaned the terminals and resecured the ground cables. I charged the battery for an hour. It seemed to cure the problem. But after a few hours of driving the problems are back. Could this possibly be the voltage regulator? What are common symptoms when it is faulty?
