Still working on an '84 900 Turbo (CIS) that won't start. You may recall that I checked for spark using an old plug gapped at 4mm, all fine. Fuel pump, fuel distributer both run when the relay is jumped. On the advice of Tom Townsend, I tried opening the distributer flap (?) using a 3mm allen wrench in the hole between the distributer and the big rubber intake pipe on the airbox. He told me to turn and lift the allen once it seats, while jumping the fuel pump relay. I did this, hope I got it right.
Anyway, the car still wouldn't start so I figured I'd try spraying some starting fluid into the intake manifold. I pulled out the big plastic vacuum tap (near the throttle body). I looked inside and saw a pool of liquid, which is definately fuel. It looks like there's a fair amount in there. Could this be my problem, or did I just cause it with the above procedure?
