The seller let on that he did all the ground up restoration. He did not tell me he purchased the car from Saab Syndicate and obviously had nothing to do with the restoration. I saw the car on the TSN classifieds and could not resist after talking to the guy. I paid way too much for the car, especially since he could not come up with any of the advertised "all the records". He managed to gnarf the wheels up, the headlight wipers were taken off for some reason, driver's seat is shot, paint was nicked up where he put a bicycle rack on, and the car presently runs like crap.
A very stupid buy on my part.
I have ordered a new leather seat cover, replacement leather shifter boot and will soon be delving into the mechanicals with professional help.
At least I now have a clue as to the car's true pedigree and can call SAAB Syndicate for more info. Hopefully I did not get ripped off too badly.
(The stereo works quite well).
I will fix the car up and most probabley repost on TSN at a significant loss, unless the car turns out to be a phenomenally running rocket machine that is too good to let go. (I hope that will be the case).
Thanks for publishing the picture.
