12hp upgrade for basicly the same motor is alot. (using saabs old advertising) how come the 91' "takes the 90's lunch money"?

both are of the 2.1 liter variety
both have DOHC W/ 4 valves per cyl
both intake tracts look identical

so what'd they do? Maybe saab saw the genious in the upgrades at http://www.kalecoauto.com/ and started equipping O-pipe exhaust, Radiator Insulation Bezels, and exhaust filters.

side note-
when buying my 91' 900S i test drove a couple different 2 door's. a 90' 5 speed and a 91' 5 speed(currently mine) I went into the whole thing under the impression they were all 128hp. I had an idea of how fast they were because i drove a 1990 sedan automatic. I drove the 90 first, alittle disapointed that it wasnt much quicker than the 90' sedan automatic. then i drove the 91 5 speed and quickly came to the conclusion that the 90' was broken. There was that much difference! I bought the 91, because it was so much peppy-er, was in EXCELENT condition, had an overflowing folder full of records, and was a nice color combination
white ext grey int. awsome car, had it for 5 weeks now.
