Check that your steering wheel turns the same amount both ways. Take the wheel off & replace so its at the same angle (opposite directions) at both extremes. THEN have the shop center it with the tie rods. Don't let the shop center it by removing/replacing the steering wheel. They have to lengthen one & shorten the other to keep the toe correct.
The reason... The rack limits the steering angle. If you can steer farther in one direction vs. the other, then you may flex the outer CV joint too far, which is bad. Or you may pull a brake hose apart, which is also bad.
