(best case scenario) and you may just be hearing belt noise. It is possible, though, that your pulley bearings are going south--due to age, wear, and possible over-tensioning of belts--and that's the noise.
I can pretty positively say that the wiggling vibration is due to bad rubber bushings in the alternator mount and/or tensioner arm. I recently replaced both of them on my '84 900S, and it cleared up the wiggling. I got mine from Townsend Imports (but I don't think he mail-orders anymore). Also, eEuroparts.com and the Saabsite.com have them, I think.
If alternator bearings bad, then I guess you'll need to spring for a new alternator (or rebuild). Hope this helps!
