Car Starting problems, ADVICE please Posted by Ryan [Email] (#2222) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ryan) on Thu, 21 Mar 2002 15:41:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yesterday, the car didn't want to start (85 900T). I forgot to plug it in, and it reached about -20C. The battery was fine, since the car was able to crank over, and occasionally you could hear a piston fire, but other than the occasional piston firing, it wouldn't go. Thinking my battery may have been a little weak, i hooked it up to the charger and plugged it in last night. It was again about -17C, and same thing happened. The car cranked over, but i could only hear the occasional piston firing, it just didn't quite get going! Any ideas? So far the things i'm thinking of are 1. the block heater does not work anymore (although i have started the car this cold before, without plugging it in, and after it warmed up it was fine) 2. fuel issue (injetors, fuel line, could it be the fuel pump?), or 3. the spark plugs (my girlfriends accord had a similar problem a few months ago, it fired occasionally, but didn't want to get going, turned out the engine was flooded and the spark plugs were contaminated and needed replacement (although i had my pluggs replaced not that long ago....)
anything else you can think of? a friend was scaring me with ideas that i might have cracked a cylender? i doubt it...i guess it's possible
Please any ideas? i really need my car this weekend
Thanks
Ryan
