You might try the silicone brake grease trick -- good luck with that. My experience has been that that's a temporary fix, and if you have noisy pads, the noise will come back eventually. It's a matter of the compound they're made of.
Some people have tried beveling the edges of the pad with a bench grinder, too. I think that's probably more trouble than it's worth, but if you decide to go that route, make sure you wear a respirator and be careful of the brake dust. Nasty stuff.
Most of the braking action on Saabs is on the front brakes (something like 80%, I think) so the rear ones, more lightly applied, seem to sing more than the fronts. They might "wear in" after a time and quiet down some, but they'll take much longer to do that than the front ones will.
