I'll take a closer look later this afternoon and try to localize better the source...I'll also put a piece of cardboard under the car to help with locating the leak from outside. I was very sure it was PS fluid because it was relatively "clear", and the the PS reservoir was way low...then I put the "stop Leak" fluid in, which was thick and reddish in color... then the fluid I was seeing was "reddish"....funny thing is, when I first put the "stop Leak" in, it stopped leaking, and I thought I had the thing beat...but a few days later...back came the leak...slower...but still there..

I understand your explaination about the shaft and the boot/seal, but it definitely seems to be coming from up higher (above the brake pedal) but in proximity of the shaft...it's a puzzler...after I check later today, I'll let you know what I see...it's supposed to rain out east here later today, but if I do not get to it today/tomorrow, i'll post a reply later with your name attached...and THANKS for the good input Jim...

P.S. Any thoughts on my other posts about the stalling problems i've been having with this 87 Automatic? I've checked the vacuum hoses, except the one hidden by the throttle plate, which I will check later....if not that, do you think it is time for a new oxygen sensor?
