Could be O2 sensor... Frequently when they get old they still work, but response gets sluggish. When you let off the gas, come to a stop, the sensor doesn't keep up with changing conditions so it gives the ECU bogus information. If you check it at idle with a voltmeter, that's a steady condition, & it looks like its working. How many miles on the O2 sensor?
Otherwise, I think the others have been giving good advice.
My '89 16v n/a had surging idle, stalling, etc, but turned out to be ignition. You changed all that stuff, so I figured vacuum leak, & others had already suggested that...
Leaks on the floor... I'm still baffled... I was gonna suggest brake fluid, but there's a couple problems with that.
1) Master cylinder leaks thru shaft seal -- should be in engine compartment, unless it gets thru the vacuum booster.
2) Clutch master cylinder leaks thru shaft seal -- waitaminute! You've got auto trans...
The only other fluid in that neighborhood is coolant, and leaky heater valves are quite popular and its just in the right place to drip on your feet.
