Temperature Guage Resistor Replacement

My 1993 900 2.1 liter w/automatic was having erratic temperature guage readings (off/on/steady needle flickering) until I took out the speaker grille and reached in behind to poke around on the backside of the instrument panel. I happened to locate what must have been the loose connection at a ceramic resistor, which, when wiggled into the right possition, heated up, but kept the needle steady. Unfortunately, I managed to break of the resistor and have subsequently lost it. Any electrical savvy folks who would know what type of resistor I should get to solder back into place and get the guage working again??!! Need to get this fixed ASAP to sell off the car and make room for the '99 9-5 I just bought..!!
P.S. - Did the recommended Saab tech bulletin modification to get both electric fans running for engine cooling and not just when AC is on. Sure helps to share the load from the one too long overworked fan!
Thanx,
Kirk D.
