Any tips of removal of heater matrix....

My beloved 89 900i has started dripping a small amount green fluid from under the dash into the passenger side footwell (right hand drive car). I suspect it is the heater matrix, or connecting hose.
I have a factory manual for the 79 900 to steady my hand while I perform the delicate operation of fault finding and possibly removing and repairing the heater matrix.
But I was wondering if there are any useful tips or surprises that I should know about before I comence this operation....
In the meantime at least I can turn the heater off and effectively stop the leak, unlike some cars (Mitsuibishi Pajero, Ford Escort mark II) that have a constanltly on heater with full coolant flow heater matrix adjusted via airflow ducts.
Got to love Saab engineering (sometimes!!)
Cheers
Justin
