headlights.. Posted by gordon [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Difficulty of 87+ lights & grill on 86?, nosurf, Tue, 7 May 2002 13:33:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The older (86) style lights are brighter, but you can get a set of European H4 headlights from the Saab Depot in Canada, I bought a set for my '85 SPG for $200.....I also have an '86 SPG and I am keeping the factory headlight setup, far brighter. Also, I have an '87 900, and the lights on the '86 spg are way brighter too. The old type of headlights (86 and under) are a sealed type of light made from glass, and do not get fogged up, dulled, chipped, or pitted ar easily as the 87+ plastic headlamps. They are also very inexpensive to replace, a new Sylvania halogen headlamps for an '86 900 I think is around $10.00, where as a new headlight for an '87 is probley over $100.00. I have Sylvania Cool blue headlights on my '86 SPG (brilliant white light) with SAS headlight covers wich give them the Euro look, this combo works great, and even on low beam it's brighter then the average cars high beam. Combine that with my brand new bosch foglight lenses &bulbs and I have a pretty good lighting setup. :)
Hope this info has helped!
